Does anyone know how go get rid of house finches?
If you live in the US it is Illegal to disturb the bird, nest, eggs, or babies. House Finches are a state and federally protected bird. As wild birds go it could be worse, they are not as messy, loud, or invasive as the other birds that like to nest on or in homes. Chances are they are nesting there because it is a safe and sheltered place. The other factor could be a good food source, if you have feeders up that may be what is driving them to nest there. Try to remove the feeders and see if they stay.
