The real question is this: is it worth $35? No. In fact, i’ve seen similar scopes for $20. It’s difficult to say that they’re worth $20. For $25, you can get 10×50 binoculars at a sporting goods store. These are fragile. In fact, you should save your receipt and on the first clear night look at stars with them. If the binoculars are aligned, you won’t see every star doubled. If they work, keep them. If you treat them like fragile glass artwork (which is what they are) they’ll last for years and years, and provide good views. However, i find that 10x is very, very difficult to hold still with your hands. I recommend getting 8x. Unfortunately, i’m not finding cheap 8x binoculars just anywhere. There is a project that can be made for about $15 an a couple hours to hold binoculars up to 15x steady. See the link. Don’t get zoom binoculars. If you want excellent views from a very, very nice telescope for free, visit your local astronomy club. See the second link.
