Does anyone know any makeup and dressing tips for cross-dressing?
In general, I would advise people to go for a natural look, not something that (you think) makes you look like Jordan. I see a lot of men who want to go for full-on glamour and it very rarely works. All they look like is a bloke in a skimpy dress with frightful make-up. (See Wesley Snipes in To Wong Foo… as opposed to the more conservative Patrick Swayze in the same film). A very impressive cross-dresser (I assume) I have seen recently was Olivia Wooley on University Challenge a couple of weeks ago (UCL v Clare). She was very convincing as a woman and only when she spoke did her very deep voice raise an eyebrow. She was dressed conservatively and had subdued, natural but effective make-up. It gave the impression of an intelligent and attractive woman. Had she worked to raise the pitch of her voice I would have never realised she was not everything she appeared.
