Does anyone know any helper monkey websites or resources???
Helping Hands is the organization that does most of the monkey training, but their recipients are usually qaudreplegics not paraplegics. But it is always worth a shot. Otherwise she could always purchase her own (through donations or a fundraiser) and have it trained and certified. The monkey then would be hers for ever. I currently have a capuchin who is being trained. I am not in a wheelchair, but I have a disablity. I purchased my baby and he is certified and can go anywhere I go. Be aware though, monkey’s although are great companions and a tremendous help when fully trained. They still require a committment and if you get a baby you have 2 years before they can start the assistance training. You can see my baby in my picture riding my dog like a horse.
