Does anyone know any good talent agencies in NY?
Almost all agents do not take beginners. You need to have a solid resume first. I’m assuming you are still in High School (maybe younger), so see if your school has any plays. Obviously, they won’t have any coming up right now, but next year. The school will probably hold auditions in the beginning of the year – so, audition and participate in the play. Look for some community theaters to gain some more experience. Many theaters (especially youth theaters) are auditioning right now for their summer play. Ah, the joys of New York are Columbia and NYU. They have wonderful film departments which make student films – student films need actors! 🙂 Use actor’s access to submit for student film auditions. Hopefully, you can get some work during the summer because it’s the easiest time for child actors due to all the free time. Take some acting classes – there are so many amazing ones here in NY.
