Does anyone know about west nile virus carriers of mosquitoes,dead birds???
West Nile virus can be carried by mosquitoes, birds, horses and humans assuming any of them have been infected. As far as locations were West Nile virus has been reported, they are pretty extensive. The virus was initially discovered in the West Nile region of Uganda in 1937, hence the name West Nile Virus. Since that time, West Nile virus has been reported in Europe, Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and now North America. Within the U.S., West Nile virus has been reported in 43 states including Illinois. In 2007, Illinois had over 100 cases reported which tragically resulted in 4 fatalities according to the CDC.
