Ruth Dodge boarded the Titanic at Southhampton with her husband, Dr. Washington Dodge, who was a prominent banker, and their only son, Washington Dodge Jr. They stayed in cabin A-34 (first-class) They all survived the sinking. Mrs. Dodge and their son were rescued in lifeboat number 5, while Dr. Dodge was rescued in boat number 13. They lived in San Francisco, California, both prior to and after the sinking.
