Does AnyOne Know About Damselfish?
Marine damsel fish were spawned from the loins of satan. Or at least that’s what people who keep damsel fish often conclude. They’re pretty inexpensive, with something like a yellow tail damsel going for about £5. If you want a damsel I’d say stick with one of those, and not the humbug or domino damsels as they are real terrors. If you have a big tank wtih lots of live rock be wary. If you got a damsel and found that it was not behaving itself, you may end up having to strip the tank down to evict it. They are seriously fast! A lot of people use damselfish to initially cycle their aquariums as they seem to be pretty much bomb proof. But this poses some problems. If they are put in first, they turn the entire tank into their territory and then viciously attack anything you add in later. So if they are used for cycling, they’ll have to be removed afterwards, which seems cruel. Also be wary of stocking more than one damsel fish in a tank.
