Does anyone know about any historical events that happened in the 1st century?

Our century is the 21st century. But if you really mean the 1st century, one of the coolest events was the explosive eruption of Mount Vesuvius in the year 79. It buried the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum under several feet of ash, and unleashed huge pyroclastic flows like the one from Mt St Helens in 1980. There were a lot of rich Romans in Pompeii, cause it was like a beach resort, and everyone who didn’t run quick ended up dead. An old fat rich Roman called Pliny the Elder, who was in command of a naval force, decided to try to rescue some friends from near the mountain, and got stranded there overnight and died.
