Keep your cat on C/D for a couple of months if he already has struvite crystals. It will do what it says it will, which is get rid of the crystals in his urine. The first ingredient is rice, followed by chicken byproduct meal, then corn gluten meal. All of these ingredients are cheap, low quality products. The BEST way to keep a cat from getting crystals for good is to feed a high-quality WET FOOD diet that is fish free and has very little to no carbohydrates. Some good brands are Wellness, Nutro’s canned food line, and Evo. This is because dry food is very hard on the kidneys because it provides almost no water, and a cat just doesn’t have a high thirst drive because in nature it gets its water from its prey, so they never get enough water on a dry food diet.
