Does anyone know a good pro bono attorney for employment issues?
The Oregon Bar Association provides an Attorney referral service. Google the name and leave a message with clear contact information, and allow reasonable time for reply. MANY Attorneys will give you a free hour to evaluate if your case seems winnable, and if it seems likely – they may take the case on a contingent Pay-if they get a money judgement basis. If you are a Member of a Union, you should probably contact your Business Agent ASAP for advice. Be careful about talking too much in your workplace about the issue. Get advice on how to document the issue, and keep a careful diary of dates/occurences/witnesses, statements made. Once the Employer suspects you have a legal case brewing they may look through your computer and trash to try to build their own case. No matter what, be cautious, professional, respectful, confidential, and early for work during this period. If your case also involves a bunch of Co-Employees being opressed by a greedy or racist/sexist boss/Supervisor – it may
