Does anyone here believe, truly believe, that animals should enjoy the same rights as people?
With all this talk about not wanting animals to vote…even if they had the right to, they wouldn’t, as they wouldn’t even understand the concept. If we give them the same rights as humans but they don’t utilize them, so what? It wouldn’t matter as they wouldn’t be doing anything different anyway. The only thing that would dramatically change is that they’d be protected from being slaughtered & abused, which I don’t see as a bad thing at all. If they had the same rights as people, animal abusers would get harsher punishments…yay for that! If animals had the same rights, they wouldn’t be euthanized just because a shelter can’t find anyone to take them…they don’t euthanize orphan children so again, yay for that!
