Does anyone have some guinea pig cage organization tips?
As long as your piggie isn’t trying to eat the rug, it sounds just fine. I did fleece for awhile, but found the shavings to be less time consuming. I have 10 cages to clean, so vacuuming up the poops daily took a long time, not to mention the washing & drying. That seemed to be an ongoing ordeal without end. Honestly, with the cost of detergent, vinegar, and cost of electricity to run the washer/dryer, it worked out to about the same as the cost of weekly shavings. I get shavings all over my carpet too, as well as hay. Thats just part of owning piggies. I vacuum all the time. I have found that if you make the sides of the coroplast a little higher (8 inches vs. the standard 6 inches) it helps to keep the shavings in the cage.
