As a Claims Supervisor and Claims Adjuster I have over 25 years of experience in handling these types of claims. I handled claims in NY, NJ, CT, MA and RI . The WC carrier is responsible for the investigation of the claim. A part of that investigation should be obtaining copies of and reviewing the contracts of the involved parties to see to what extent each party has accepted liability for the job involved. Look for insurance clauses and hold harmless agreements. WC insurance provides coverage for the injured party’s medical bills and lost wages and will seek reimbursement from any responsible party once liability has been determined.
