It depends what you want Chelation therapy for. It’s used in the NHS for treatment of thalassemia and acute toxic metal poisoning and has been for many years. I presume you want it for coronary disease? In which case generally no, however I am aware that there are a number of private clinics offering this therapy in the UK. Some GPs have tried to refer patients for it, but the local heath authorities usually won’t approve it. You may be lucky, if your GP does try and refer you, he’d have to do it as an extra contractual referral. The referral will as I said above, likely be rejected by the health authority. A handful of cases in the country have been successful though, it depends where you live. The Department of Health’s stance is that they support the programme of UK clinical trials but want to wait for the results of the clinical trials before reaching a final conclusion with regards to safety and other long term success factors.
