From pogo.com: ” Cutthroat Pool Cutthroat Pool is the game of choice when you have three friends who all want to play Pool together. Cutthroat Pool uses a set of 15 balls-5 each in red, blue, and yellow-racked in a triangular shape, similar to 8-ball Pool. At the beginning, players can hit any color of ball. The first player to knock a ball in gets to choose which color he or she will “own.” This player must try to keep that color on the table by only sinking balls of the two other colors. (So, for example, if the player pockets two red balls, he or she should choose blue or yellow to own, because there are more of them remaining on the table.) The second player to sink a ball gets to choose from one of the two un-owned colors, leaving the third color for the third player. Unlike 8-ball, in Cutthroat, players must begin each shot by hitting a ball of a color they do not own. They must keep sinking balls of the colors they do not own in order
