Yes, it could be so hard cooking for a family with different needs. I have Crohn’s disease. My kids have gluten sensitivity. Your partner has a reaction to dairy, but probably only to pasteurized dairy. Do you have a way to get raw dairy? That can agree with your partner and your kids. Also, almond milk can be a great choice for all of you. Soy milk may not be the best choice for Crohn’s patient. Brown rice cereals can be good for your partner and your kids. Salads, green juices, vegetable soups, grilled fish, grilled chicken, steamed or grilled vegetables, baked green apples, soft boiled eggs are all the foods that can be given to your whole family. More raw, less cooked for everyone to stay healthy.

go to the Crohns forum on healingwell.com and ask the same question there! I have ulcerative colitis (similar to crohns) and am a member of healingwell and I have found out so much useful information from everyone suffering from the disease. I hope this helps, I know when I have a flare up I eat mostly potatoes (without the skin) and rice because they are easy to digest and give your colon a rest. I also steer clear of milk, raw vegetables and nuts. Trying to cook for someone with an irritable bowel disease is challenging but when you find out what he can and cannot tolerate it will be so much easier! I wish you two the best and I hope he signs up at the site since he has just been diagnosed and has many unanswered questions!
