Does anyone have any information on HRH princess Alexandra?
Her husband died on Christmas day 2004. She is the patron of the Blackie Foundation Trust, a charity dedicated to the promotion of research and education in homeopathy. She is also a patron of the English National Opera, the London Philharmonic Choir the charity Independent Age, St Christopher’s Hospice in Sydenham, England, and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), the oldest drama school in the English speaking world. At age 73 she lives a fairly quiet life. When Elizabeth took the throne in 1952 she had five royal cousins, four princes and one princess. They were ages 16, 15 (Princess Alexandra), 10, 9, and 7 . Her sister was already age 21, but she quickly became involved in an affair with a much older divorced man with 2 children. Princess Margaret remained a somewhat controversial figure her whole life, whereas Alexandra was much more sedate and dignified, quietly married at age 25 and widowed 40 years later.
