The number three stands for The Father, The Son and The Holy Ghost to begin with. It is also the amount of time from crucifixion to resurrection. There is other significance throughout the Bible. The number 7 is the Holiest number in the Bible, and is everywhere in Revelations, and other parts of the Bible. This is how long it took God to create the earth, including a day of rest. The number 12 is the other Holy number, for the twelve Apostles. This also appears in Revelations.
