Does anyone have any good puppy training tips, especially how to reduce mouthing?
Mouthing, once the dogs starts to mouth at you you need to pull your arm or whatever other body part the dog is mouthing at, take one hand (dont do this hard and hurt your dog) and clamp their mouth shut, with you other hand snap your fingers and tell them no. Dont use the dogs name when disciplining or scolding them. Use a sound they do not hear often like I said above snapping your fingers. Snap your fingers when they are doing something wrong. Do not scream as you can make the dog fearful and timid. Buy good dog toys, do not give them shoes or socks, some people might find this cute when their little, but as time goes on it will continue and most likely get worse and scolding them for something you let them do as a puppy and patted them on the head for because it was cute will also confuse the dog.
