Does anyone have any experience using Google AdWords to advertise point of purchase items under $15?

I’ve found a wealth of information and strategy on using Adwords to drive traffic to your website or sell higher ticket products and services. However, I can’t seem to find much on using Adwords to sell items in a lower price range at a point of purchase site. Everything is geared toward multi-tier sales models for products such as books and seminars with higher price points. My items are generally priced $5.95 to $15.95. I’ve had success in driving traffic to the landing pages (click through rates averaging 6-7%) but can’t seem to convert many sales. I’ve also been able to get my PPC down to .10 to .20. I sell a line of laminated reference guides for crafts and hobbies, so people are generally not searching for my specific item but for a topics related to the items I sell. (You can view the products at rhapadoshop.com.) I’ve tried a number of different approaches: short and long pages, email sign-up, storefront style pages, etc. Nothing converts at a steady number.
