From what I read about them they are not as difficult as you might think as long as you have experience with reef tanks. I will post a good link for you at the bottom to read up on keeping these. There are only two species available to keep in home aquariums. One of these (Sepia bandensis) is the perfect choice being that it only gets to be 4 inches and can be kept in a 20-30 gallon high. The other (Sepia officinalis) can get 18 inches and needs 200 gallons minimum for a single one. The only downfall to these are that they are a good pet, will greet you when you come in the room, but they only live for a little over a year, so you cannot get to attached to them. On the other hand they are a better choice than a octopus because these won’t try to escape from your tank.
