It sounds like you have had a tough go of it and still are having a hard time. I have seen patients that despite optimal lipid control (LDL’s below 70) still manage to re-stenose their arteries, bypasses, and stents with some regularity. In truth the typical cholesterol tests we run are only markers for the sub-particles that cause the problems. If you have not had a discussion with a lipid specialist, I would encourage you to inquire about it. They can run a specialized blood test that will help identify abnormalities in the make-up of your lipid profile. They can also customize a medication regimen to address it. Most large cities have cardiologist offices (usually not the cardiologist him or herself) that have this service or have medical schools that can offer these services.
