This was selected as Best Answer I had an enormous fear of public speaking. I was (and still am) great in one-on-one situations – sharing and listen intently. However, my experiences in front of cameras and on stage were causes for great distress. Finally, I got control of this fear. I was working for Thomson Prometric and they hired a company to provide all the management staff public speaking and presentation training. This company was a husband and wife team who were genius at determining why each person was holding back and giving them the strength to overcome whatever fears they had. That was 5 years ago and I have given dozens of presentations and speaches with a much diminished reaction. There is still a twitch in my heart when someone asks me to speak but today, I think that is normal for most people.
