Actually, I thought it was pretty good. Not the best movie ever agreed- but a damn good romp. Johnny Depp is pretty good in it- he can be a very good comic actor at times, something people miss when they’re drooling over his looks. And I think the Pirates films show him at his best- he really does look like he’s having fun. Jack Sparrow really develops as this ambiguos anti-hero type – plus there’s some nifty sexual tension going on between him and the Keira Knightly character. Lots of fun swordfights, some cannibals, a big scary squid and a Carribean witch with a wonderbra. Fantastic fun, totally over the top story- that’s what you want from a pirate movie isn’t it? I thought it was great, can’t wait for the next installment. (And I may not want his e-mail address, but Johnny Depp DOES look quite hot in it.
