Does anyone get winter depression?

You can buy a therapy light (there are now less-expensive blue-wave LED lights that use less electricity) and sit in front of it in the mornings for extra light to compensate for the shorter days or an extended period of cloudy weather. Animals love these lights, birds and other pets will sit facing the light, and pet birds will sing their little hearts out after doing so. If chickens have stopped laying eggs in winter, put an incandescent light in their coop and leave it on, they will start laying eggs again. Light affects hormones and not having enough can lead to depression or sleep disorders. Being outside in the mornings about the time the sun rises also helps if you can do that.
