Does anyone else think street gangs have outnumbered organized crime?
I think that anyone who thinks the number of members and the influence of organized crime cartels is less than the effect of folks who are essentially street punks is hopelessly naive. What are considered ‘street gangs’ seem far more evident because of their ruthlessness and the fact that, face it, they are considered different. Street gangs are involved in car thefts, the drug trade and some real estate fraud. Organized crime controls waste management really on the entire east coast. It has major investments in prostitution, gambling, securities fraud, car theft, drugs and other areas. It also has major investments in politicians and celebrities, not just rap musicians. Stop fooling yourself.
