Does anyone else think Anne Widdecombe should had resigned instead of David Davies?
Yes. Absolutely right. I’m not usually one to agree with the Tories on anything, but I think Davies is absolutely correct in the stance he’s taking on the erosion of our civil liberties and freedom. I also think that the fact he felt he had to resign from the House of Commons in order to take this stance, does not reflect well on David Cameron or the Parliamentary Conservative Party. Anne Widdecombe is little more than a cynical self publicist who votes in whichever way she thinks will make her most newsworthy. Davies, on the other hand has just proved that he is a man of principle. I’m beginning to think now that it’s a pity Cameron beat him in the Tory leadership contest.
