Does anyone else struggle to clean their toddlers teeth?
We have a step stool in the bathroom next to the sink for our 18 month old to stand on, i give her one of her toothbrushes ( we let her pick a few from asda lol ) i put a smear of toothpaste on and leave the cold tap on for her then let her get on with it, halfway through her sucking the water off the brush i quickly scrub it round her teeth. Kids this age like to do everything themselves because they see what we do and want to do the same. I also think i gave you the tip before to wipe his teeth over with a clean flannel during the day, try to come up with a reward system for when its done- our girl loves Mr bean so we let her watch an episode or one of the many things she loves to do. I’m sure lots of toddlers are like this, but you’ll get there.
My son was the same so made it into a game I used to brush my teeth with him and make up a funny song it worked so I got my husband and anyone else to do it with him and we all cheered if he brushed them. But don’t worry too much when he gets a little older you will be able to explain to him why he needs to do it. Then you can make it into a competition and say that you can brush your teeth best, boys are really competitive. Good luck though its not that important at this age he should be brushing them properly your just getting them into a routine for the future and don’t give up he will do it eventually!
