Does anyone else still make construction paper and popcorn chains for the tree with their kids?

i don’t have any kids yet, i will in march 09. I do have a nephew that I consider my own though. We live in southwest GA and we don’t have tree farms like up north. We get our regular tree from the house from a local selling christmas trees. We decorate that one with lights and ornaments, bows, and tinsel. But then we go out in the woods and get a real christmas tree. A small cider and place it on our back porch so the reindeer can see it when they are on the roof. We pop popcorn and string it and we also do the construction paper chain. And while we do that, my mother cooks a gingerbread cake and makes hot chocolate. Every year. Nothing ever changes and i wouldn’t want it too. Thats the true meaning of Christmas. Spending time with the ones you love and being grateful for everything you have and everyone you have. When my little one grows up to be able to do all im going to do the exact same thing i have done the past years.
