Does anyone else realize Twilight is Interview with a Vampire + a love story?

I must respectfully disagree with this assertion. At the center of Twilight is a love story, specifically that between Bella and Edward. There is no such love story in Interview with a Vampire. Anne Rice’s novel explores the inner turmoil that exists within different kinds of vampires; themes touch upon dark ideas resulting from the damnation of being a vampire like: retaining your soul as a killer, losing your connection to a changing world, isolation, etc.

Also, anyone can see there is a vast difference in the quality of writing between these two novels. Myers definitely wrote Twilight similar to a screenplay format and readers (even the the fans) agree that the writing is nothing amazing.

Interview with a Vampire was a MUCH better read than Twilight. Twilight was nothing more than just another teen-angst situation drama with a vampire twist, strictly a formula teen angst thing and no different than any other Harlequin romance novel, less the bodice ripping front cover image… I fail to see what all the fuss is about Twilight. Twilight was NOT that good a book that I would recommend it to my friends but I would recommend Interview with a Vampire. Tom Cruise ruined the part in the movie.
