IMO if it has been brewed with real fruit it is cool. But fruit syrups suck as does adding fruit in the glass. The beers you talk about from Belgium are great beers and to be enjoyed. They then will not cause me to hate other Belgian beer at all.

My favorite beer is Belgian (just not available outside the abbey, alas). The Belgians I dislike are the ones flavored with coriander. Krieks and other fruit beers are fine, no matter what country they are from.
