I loved it. I own the video. I kind of liked how Jerome Pradon isn’t the greatest singer…it sort of made it sound more raw and emotional. And certain songs were really given a new life…”Simon of Zealots” was fantastic in this version. The Pilate in this version is an interesting new interpretation, and I liked Fred Johanson. I think I do ultimately prefer Barry Dennen’s performance. However, I really, really love the original soundtrack with Murray Head and Ian Gillian. Ian Gillian was amazing. To me, this version is the version by which I measure all other versions.
