Well, I don’t know how you can say that Christianity was destroyed, considering that it’s still around, in quite a few forms, after 2,000 years. However, some people think that Paul put his own spin on Christian doctrine, and the way it’s come down is not quite what Jesus was talking about. One of the areas that people say was changed by Paul was Christianity’s take on women. Unfortunately, most organized religions, in some way or another, treat woman as second-class citizens who are inferior to men. From what I know about Jesus…and, no, I don’t know everything…I don’t think that Jesus wanted women to be treated like that. When we consider the way the whole story has come down, it’s not surprising that many people have a problem believing it. Jesus took twelve pretty ordinary guys and told them “You will be fishers of men!” Is that cool or what? These guys were fishermen, laborers, etc., and, basically, he told them that if they followed him, they had a much higher purpose in life
