Does anyone actually give a toss about the Queen/BBC TV row?
I didn’t know there was a row between the Queen and the BBC TV! I don’t read or watch the news. A lot of it is fake, they think it entertains. Or it is always bad news. Let’s have a positive news channel. Or a news channel where you can get the actual news of the day, whatever it is, nice and bad. I actually read once that a war had finished somewhere, but because they were going to read about the war in that country, they got a few soldiers to get together in a photo to look like they were shooting the opposition! Why didn’t they just throw the papers away?! So that is why I am so ignorant about there being a row between the Queen and the BBC. And personally, I don’t give a damn.
I thought it was good footage to show our Queen losing her rag….she’s entitled too same as we are from time to time. (albeit it they got it the wrong way round) I think you could have used another word other than ‘toss’ as that implies that you couldn’t care less about the Queen when I’m sure that is not the case. Anything news about royality causes a stir in this country. Perhaps the next generation of royals will take a more european approach to their duties, as I’m sure the Queen would love to have done had she been given the opportunity over the years. The Queen is very dedicated to her job but she would appreciate a bit more freedom because as shown in the footage yesterday that she can’t be assed with the wearing of stuffy outmoded regalia. Yes and I agree with James M…the BBC and I think that those who run it are a bunch of communist with Tony Blair as their co-opted leader.
I give a toss! I am not too interested in this story per se. We pay the TV license for the BBC’s journalistic standards and its impartiality. Our privilege for paying the TV license is that the BBC, as a public service, is accountable to the public. The Hutton inquiry, Blue peter and now this makes you question their professional integrity.
