Does anybody view the Russia/Georgia conflict as a modern day death of Archduke Ferdinand?

World War 1 was not directly a result of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand so much as it was extreme nationalism gone out of control. Also a cause of World War 1 was the alliance system which caused an isolated conflict between two countries to escalate into a full blown world war. This war (assuming it turns into one) will most likely not go past the borders of Georgia or Russia. In my opinion the two are almost completely different.
