Does anybody use Dollar Coins or just the notes?

0

Dollar coins are legal tender, so they enjoy equal status as notes. I guess most folks prefer to use notes as they are less bulky, much lighter and more convenient to handle. I fall into this category. On the other hand, coins last longer than notes, and using coins helps the environment because the government does not have to expand energy to destroy them. However, if studies and surveys show that people are not using the coins, the government should reconsider its options and not simply go on producing them, only to store them in warehouses. That would waste far more energy than it saves from usage.
