Does anybody understand what happend at the end of the last harry potter book?
Dumbledore was going to die anyway because he put on the cursed ring. Snape managed to buy him some extra time, but he knew he had a limited amount of time. Dumbledore also knew that Voldemort was going to send Draco to kill him and he hoped Draco was not going to be able to do it, which turned out to be the case. So Dumbledore asked Snape to kill him if Draco was put in the position of having to kill Dumbledore. Anyway, between the curse from the ring and having to drink the poison, Dumbledore was in agony and about to die, so it was kind of a mercy killing. Harry had to face death and not fight, partly because he was sacrificing himself but also because there was a little bit of Voldemort in him, which was the ugly baby kind of thing. Harry could have gone on into death but chose to return to life, knowing he would still have to kill Voldemort.
