DOES ANYBODY SUPERVISE THE CONSERVATOR?
To assure that the conservatee is being properly cared for and his/her assets properly handled by the conservator, the Court uses investigators who are required to visit the conservatee every six months and file written reports with the Court. The accountings, filed by the conservator are carefully scrutinized and back up data including original bank statements and original statements from residential facilities (like retirement homes or senior homes) are scrutinized by the probate examiner. A conservator who fails to perform their duties as required by law can be severely punished for failing to do so.
