Does anybody no anything about carrera road bikes?
Unlike some of the answers you have got, I can speak from personal experience of the Carrera bike sold by Halfords. My experience is with hydrids rather than road bikes, as I’ve bought two this year. One adults bike and one childs. The worst thing about them is that they are sold by Halfords. The secret here is to take them away boxed and assemble them yourself or by a real bike shop. Don’t let their “mechanics” lay a finger on them. They aren’t top end machines, but they DO compare to branded machines at around twice the price. The frame is no heavier on the adult hybrid I’ve bought than on any other bike, and the quality of welding and paint is very good. In fact the frames are made in the same factory that make the frames for GT, a factory that’s 50% owned by Trek. The wheels are OK, nothing brilliant but didn’t need trueing. The tyres on the adults bike are rubbish and incorrectly moulded. The childs bike has 100 psi road tyres and they’re really rather good. Drive train is what yo
