I want to be a music teacher too, and have been researching. Firstly you need a degree in music, this can be a BA, or BMus. After that if you want you can go on to do masters, MA, or MMus, and then if you also want a PHD in music, and that would make you a doctor of music. You would also need to do a year or so of teachers training, which you do with the university after doing your degree. To be able to do the above you need to go into university. Every university (as far as I know) wants a B in english or maths. Also the universities I’ve looked at all want at least 3 B grades (some A’s even) in Alevels, counting music. They also want a grade 7 equivalent in one instrument. But every uni is different, and I would advise you to look at different uni’s courses, and what they require like I’ve done. I wish you the very best!
