Does anybody know the nearest tube station to Breakspear Crematorium in Ruislip?
Ruislip. Not West Ruislip, or South Ruislip, or Ruislip Gardens, or Ruislip Manor, just Ruislip on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines. It’s a bit far to walk from there – 2-3 miles, as the crematorium is right on the very edge of Ruislip bordering the woods that separate it from Northwood. The H13 and 331 buses from Ruislip station stop the nearest to it. As you exit Ruislip station you’ll see a whole host of bus stops in the station approach road in front of you, so you’ll need to look around to find which one to wait at. Don’t bother with the ones on the right hand side of that road as those are almost entirely for buses terminating there – quite a few routes do, so those stops are full of buses with drivers taking a break. You’ll know you are approaching the crematorium when you see the BP service station. The buses go up Ruislip High Street, fork left into Bury Street at the mini-roundabout at the other end of the High Street, and the at the next mini-roundabout a mile or more f
