Anything that comprehensive will be expensive. Living Language and Pimsleur are alternatives, but both are going to be in the $200-$300 for a full course. The cheaper alternative is to learn online. There are several websites that offer free/cheap podcasts for speaking, and also you can get used grammer/vocab books at Amazon pretty cheap. Also do a google search for forums that specialize in learning the language that you are learning.
