I took an educational theatre class last year and the focus of the class was activities to do with children that focus on the four C’s; here’s a couple of activities that we did: Word Toss: Everyone makes a circle and tosses a ball. Before they toss the ball they have to name a word from the category that the leader chooses, for example animals. The key is to pass the ball to the same person everytime, but the only way to get that person’s attention is to say the word (in this example animal) that they had orginally stated. If you feel this is too complicated to start with, then start by the kids calling someone’s name before they throw the ball. Along with communicating with one another the goal is to not drop the ball. The point of this activity is concentration, coordination, and communication.
