Does any state require a death certificate for an aborted fetus?

Interesting question … they didn’t teach THAT in law school. I did a quick web search and it turns out that on February 8, 2007 Tennessee Rep. Stacey Campfield introduced House Bill 982, legislation that would require a death certificate be filed for every abortion in Tennessee. I just checked on the status of the bill and it was referred to the Public Health and Family Assistance subcommittee of the Health and Human Resources Committee. Therefore, it has not passed yet and it is not the law. It looks like there was a companion Senate Bill in Tennessee, SB 1094 that is also being considered in committee. From all other research, I was unable to find any other state that requires a death certificate for an aborted fetus. Hope this answers your question.
