Does any DV2000/V3000 has USB power supply Problems?

Just find this out couple of days ago. When I plugin my external HDD into the USB socket that close to the power plug, it appears unstable randomly. If there is a plugged in mouse next to it, sometimes the HDD won’t even recognized. Even it is correctly mounted, it get lost after maybe 1 or 2 hrs. When I use the USB socket on the other side that close to Express Card, it works fine all the time. The HDD that I used doesn’t have any external power supply, and it works fine with all my other desktops and laptops. I think this unstable is caused by HP’s limited USB power driver or maybe I got a defect USB interface? Does anyone have same problem?
