Does any cell phone company plan on copying t-mobiles hotspot@home service?
This a question that I have had for two years now and have done some research on it. AT&T must be working on wireless VOIP (t-mobiles hotspot service), but so far they have not launched any plans/ phones. I also use and have used the Palm OS devices since their inception–currently Tungsten T3. A smartphone that was palm os based, included wifi for not only data, but also voice and was on a GSM network would be my next phone–T-mobile or AT&T. I might even switch to a CDMA carrier if they offered that phone with that feature. The Palm Pre is Palm’s latest smartphone (yet to be released) on Sprint’s network. Its not Palm OS based, its windows based (Windows mobile 6.1). I think the days of a Palm OS died (for phones) with the Centro and (for PDA’s) with the T/X. In summary, I believe that wireless WIFI will extend to AT&T when hotpots become more ubiquitous / or T-Mobile acquires a larger portion of GSM consumers. If you think about it, wireless VOIP is a cell phone companies worse nigh
