Does any American of any faith have any moral qualms with killing 250 Taliban at a funeral?
I think war is the ultimate human failure. I think killing only begets more killing. I think many empires have thought to tame Afghanistan and failed and we will be no different in the end. That’s not our place. It’s their place. Just as the only way a foreign invader would tame America is kill every last American, the only way to tame Afghanistan is to kill every last Afghan. We won’t do it, they know it, so they fight on, knowing evenutally we’ll tire of watching our troops die in a foreign land for no good reason. Striking against Al Qaeda was one thing. Propping up our puppet Kharzai is another. The Soviets had their puppet there too. Eventually they left and so will we. “When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains, and the women come out to cut up what remains, jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains and go to your gawd like a soldier.
