Does any American network cover field events well?
And by “field” I mean as in “track and field,” of course. Granted, NBC does not give nearly enough attention to the field disciplines, but that is certainly consistent with how American networks cover field. Watch coverage of the World Championships, or the Golden League, or any of the major American meets like the Penn Relays, and you see the same thing: Dwight Stones (and it’s always Dwight Stones, no matter what network) doing a thumbnail narration over a brief montage.
