Does Anna University have collaborations with foreign universities?
Are there any student or teacher exchange programs? It does take place though not in a regular manner. For example three of our students (one from Mechanical, one from Computer science and one from Civil) went to Japan and did their masters level project there. The Universities in Japan require the students to stay there for at least six months to do some meaningful work. That is possible only in the masters program. Only occasionally, people from other countries come here. We had a program some years ago when a group of students came from Malaysia and they were trained here. Even now there are a few students from Iran, Iraq and Korea. Right now, the French embassy has sent a French teacher, for foreign language coaching. Earlier we had a lot of collaboration with Germany, in certain areas like CAD/CAM, Remote Sensing and Environmental Studies, there was some funding and they participated in the development of the laboratories. Also there was some US contribution in the Civil departmen
